VERNON – Economists, financial experts, and marketing consultants will
teach an advanced technical
analysis course March 20-21, at Texas A&M’s Agricultural Research
and Extension Center here.
This course is part of Texas Cooperative Extension’s Advanced Topics
Series in agricultural marketing; a
slate of 10, two-day workshops offered this year at several locations
statewide.
The technical analysis course will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m each day,
noted Stan Bevers, associate
professor of ag economics and ag economist-management at Vernon.
“This course is ideal for those who want to develop a crop or livestock
marketing plan, or simply develop
some objective rules that can help you decide when to make crop or
livestock sales,” Bevers said. “It is also
a good way to gain more understanding of technical analysis tools.
“We will teach this course at a highly applied level, using a combination
of lectures, small group work and
interaction, and simulation exercises. This course is designed to help
producers fine-tune their marketing
plans by broadening their understanding of bar charts, chart patterns
and formations, moving averages,
overbought and oversold indicators, and other marketing tools.”
Alan Brugler, ag marketing consultant and president of Brugler Marketing
and Management, LLC, Omaha,
Nebraska, is the featured speaker for this course.
Registration costs $150 per person, and includes materials, refreshments
and lunch. Pre-registration is
required. The deadline for pre-registration is March 13, Bevers noted.
Partial funding for Texas A&M’s Advanced Topic Series in ag marketing
is provided by the Southern
Region Risk Management Education Center. The series is also underwritten
by the sponsors of the Master
Marketer Educational System, including: Texas Wheat Producers Board,
Texas Corn Producers Board,
Texas Farm Bureau, State Cotton Support Committee and the Houston Livestock
Show & Rodeo.
